2. YouTube API Services

BJJSearch.com uses the YouTube Data API Services to search for and display publicly available YouTube videos related to Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu techniques. By using BJJSearch.com, you agree to be bound by the YouTube Terms of Service, available at https://www.youtube.com/t/terms. Our use of information received from YouTube API Services adheres to the YouTube API Services Terms of Service.

3. Google Privacy Policy

Because we use YouTube API Services and Google Sign-In (which are provided by Google), Google's Privacy Policy also applies to your use of BJJSearch.com. You can review Google's Privacy Policy at http://www.google.com/policies/privacy.

4. Information We Collect

Search queries: When you search on BJJSearch.com, we log your search query and the number of knowledge graph concepts matched. Anonymous search logs are not associated with personally identifiable information for non-logged-in users. Account information: If you create an account, we collect your email address, name, and any profile information you voluntarily provide such as belt rank and gym affiliation. If you sign in with Google, we receive your name, email address, and profile photo from Google. Search history: If you are signed in, we automatically save your search queries to allow you to access your search history. You can delete individual searches or your entire search history at any time from your profile page. Bookmarks: If you choose to bookmark techniques, we store those bookmarks associated with your account. You can delete bookmarks at any time from your profile page. Feedback: If you submit a thumbs up or thumbs down on a search result, we store your vote and optional comment. No personally identifiable information is collected with anonymous feedback. YouTube Data: We do not store any YouTube video data, metadata, or content on our servers. YouTube video results are fetched in real time from the YouTube Data API and displayed to you. No YouTube data is retained after your session ends.

5. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to: • Provide personalized features such as search history and bookmarks for logged-in users • Improve search result quality by analyzing which queries return poor results • Understand which BJJ techniques are most commonly searched • Monitor and improve the performance of the Service • Improve search results based on aggregated usage patterns across our user base We do not sell, trade, or otherwise transfer your information to outside parties. We do not use your information for advertising purposes.

6. Cookies and Tracking

BJJSearch.com uses cookies to maintain your login session when you create an account. These are essential cookies required for authentication and cannot be disabled if you wish to use account features. We may use Vercel Analytics, a privacy-friendly analytics service provided by Vercel Inc., to collect anonymous, aggregated data about site traffic (such as page views and general geographic region). 7. Third-Party Services

BJJSearch.com uses the following third-party services: • YouTube Data API (Google LLC) — to search for and display BJJ instructional videos • Google OAuth — to allow sign-in with Google accounts • Anthropic API — to process and understand your search queries • Vercel — to host the Service and collect anonymous analytics • Supabase — to store user accounts, search history, bookmarks, and anonymized search logs

8. Data Retention

Anonymous search logs are retained for up to 90 days and then deleted. Account data (email, name, belt rank, gym) is retained until you delete your account. Search history and bookmarks are retained until you manually delete them from your profile page or delete your account. Feedback (thumbs up/down) is retained indefinitely to help improve the Service. YouTube API data is never stored — it is fetched in real time and discarded after each request.

9. Account Deletion

You may delete your account at any time by contacting us at gerry@bjjsearch.com. Upon receiving your request, we will permanently delete all associated data including your search history, bookmarks, and profile information within 30 days. You may also manually delete your search history and bookmarks at any time from your profile page without deleting your account.

10. Data Security

We implement appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect your personal information. Your account data is stored securely using Supabase, which employs industry-standard security practices including encryption at rest and in transit. However, no method of transmission over the internet or electronic storage is 100% secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security of your data.

11. Children's Privacy

BJJSearch.com is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it.

12. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by updating the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Your continued use of the Service after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
